Electrical cable calculator and quotes — on your device

CableFlow helps installers measure conduit runs, calculate cable metres per circuit, manage a catalog, and build electrical installation quotes with clear margin and markup. It works offline; no account required.

What it does

Full flow: measure → calculate → catalog → quote → print.

  1. Measure — log cable runs (one conduit per row) with distance and conductor specs.
  2. Calculate — metres by section × conductor, with automatic section from circuit type (I/T/P/S/Q/G).
  3. Catalog — materials and suppliers with purchase and sale prices.
  4. Quote — create from the project (aggregated totals) or manually; add labour and VAT.
  5. Print — professional client layout without internal costs.

How it works in 4 steps

  1. Create a project and add runs (zone, type, distance, spec such as FTN or 2VJTN).
  2. Read the live summary: cable metres per circuit and totals by section × conductor.
  3. Generate a quote from the project and map each total to a catalog material.
  4. Tune margin or markup, print for the client, and export JSON as backup.

Frequently asked questions

Does CableFlow require an account?

No. There is no login or email. Data stays on your device (localStorage). Optional cloud sync uses a secret UUID workspace code.

Does it work offline?

Yes. The app runs in the browser and stores projects, materials, and quotes locally. If the network drops, you keep working; optional sync resumes when you are back online.

How are cable metres calculated?

For each conduit run you set distance and a conductor spec (e.g. FTN, 2VJTN). Metres per conductor are quantity × distance × factor. Traveller VJ always uses ×2; other codes use ×1.

What do circuit types I, T, P, S, Q, and G mean?

They map automatically to cable sections: I 1.5 mm², T 2.5 mm², P 4 mm², S 6 mm², Q 10 mm², G 16 mm². You do not pick section manually in the cable view.

What is the difference between margin and markup?

Margin is profit over sale price; markup is profit over cost. With cost €100, 20% margin → €125 sale; 25% markup → €125 sale — the same percentage is not the same method.

Does the print view show internal costs?

No. The client-facing print layout omits internal costs, margin, and markup. Those stay in the internal profitability view.

How do I open the same workspace on another device?

When sync is configured, Settings shows your workspace UUID. On another device: Settings → Open another workspace and paste the code. Treat it like a password.

Can I export a backup?

Yes. Settings lets you export/import full JSON (projects, materials, suppliers, quotes). It remains an independent backup besides optional sync.
